The Data Refinery Expands into Social Housing Sector Fuelling Data-Driven Growth

Dot Collective is proud to announce an exciting expansion of The Data Refinery beyond its established expertise in e-commerce & sports and into the social housing sector.

With our experience over the last two years working with Places for People, building a bespoke housing platform ‘the insight hub’, we’re making further advancements with The Data Refinery to build on the good work being done with Trident Housing Group.

This commitment to the housing sector underscores Dot Collective's broader mission which is the belief that every company should be able to access and activate the full value of its data, regardless of its technical skills and ability, maximising its opportunities to grow and succeed. By delivering robust insights and compliance-driven analytics, The Data Refinery is well positioned to support Trident in its goal of enhanced data transparency and reporting accuracy.

Kaz Sahota, Head of Commercial (Software & Support) at Dot Collective:

“I believe housing data should be a common good, something that lifts the whole sector. Because behind every dataset are people, homes, and communities whose lives could be better if we could see more clearly and act more quickly. It’s an important subject to me, as well as Dot Collective as a whole, so I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve been able to work with Trident on this project. I look forward to seeing how The Data Refinery can help even more people and organisations within the housing sector.”

Wayne Squire, Executive Director of Data and Information at Trident, commented:

“As a sector, we are rightly held to very high standards by the Regulator of Social Housing, and our ability to meet those standards is reliant on our capacity to access, analyse and derive insights from the data we hold. This is critical not only to providing a good quality service but most importantly, for ensuring the safety of our customers in their homes. As a lean organisation with limited resources, I needed a platform that would not require a whole team of data specialists to maintain, but allow us to move quickly, within budget and backed with outstanding support from an engaged supplier. As soon as I spoke to The Data Refinery, I knew we could work well together […] within two months we were up and running.”

One of Wayne’s first key decisions in his new role was selecting The Data Refinery, a move that underscores the critical role data will play in Trident’s future.

"Choosing The Data Refinery was a strategic decision to ensure we got the right platform not only to match the skills and budget we have available, but also to meet both regulatory requirements and our own ambitions to be a high performing, data-informed organisation."

Speaking of the selection and implementation process Wayne went onto say:

“It was clear from the very start that The Data Refinery implicitly understood not only our unique needs as an organisation but, as a small provider, the limitations in our ability to achieve them. This was critical as the support they provided was second to none, and allowed us to go from placing the order to going live at a fraction of the cost of other solutions.”

By leveraging The Data Refinery, Trident will enhance its regulatory reporting capabilities, improve data governance, and drive operational efficiencies. This partnership represents a proactive step toward strengthening Trident’s data management framework and empowering colleagues across the organisation to be data informed.
